During the 2016/17 season we released the Spartan Splitboard. It was designed as an economical option for boarders looking to get into the backcountry on a factory made splitboard, but without breaking the bank. The Spartan has grown in popularity over the last two seasons, largely due to its playful “directional twin” shape. For many, the only downside to the Spartan was its weight, though it’s not unreasonably heavy (especially considering the price point). All the same, there was room for improvement.

We are pleased to now offer the new Spartan Ascent. It’s the same shape and camber profile as the original Spartan, but with a construction recipe similar to the Revelator. The results speak for themselves: a playful splitboard that’s over a pound lighter than its predecessor.
