This year Ski The Whites is excited to announce that we'll be expanding our uphill series to three nights a week at three different locations throughout the valley. All events offer a series pass for nine events or a drop-in fee of $10. Don't have Alpine Touring gear? Ski The Whites will have $25 rentals that includes skis, skins, boots, and poles. Cranmore's Meisters Tour (Wednesdays): The course will consist of two laps up the South Slope and down the North Slope through a series of control gates. We finally got our hands on the Pomocup a couple weeks ago. And while winter is months away, we had to improvise on our pre-season test by visiting a grassy hill in early September.  But let's backup and give this thing a proper review.  What is it? It's a small (20g) data collecting device that mounts to your skimo race skis via magnets. There's not much to it, charge it up via micro-usb and pair with the Skilog app on your phone. Back in 2011, I was in Valdez, AK just getting into backcountry skiing. I vividly remember my first tour there - big lines in all directions. My brother's splitboarding friend, Brian Totten, guided us to some beautiful couloirs. We skinned until it was too steep to skin any further and loaded the skis on the packs.
